Let's review the facts. Good food, great location. The parking lot is full as it is shared by two other bustling restaurants. There is very little business in the Castle An and I have to demise it is the poor service, starting with the sulking front reception ( she acts like she would rather be off doing her nails ). She was however very efficient in placing the menus on the table after we struggled to convey we were there to be served. It got worse from there. The one sole waiter is rushing to be at the ready for the two occupied tables, but his support staff of one consists of a non English speaking eastern gal who was on her phone at her station. The bottom line is she needs a new job. Any job for her should be anywhere except in a service position. She is beautiful albeit CLUELESS. I love a challenge with other languages and it should have been an easy over. This gal dropped off our bottle of wine off leaving two glasses and a screw top bottle, not pouring our glasses and walked away. REALLY? She must be the owners family or she would have been fired long ago. This restaurant has been in Castle Pines a long time and is likely surviving on the take-out business as they can't be making much of a profit. Oh... Have I mentioned the food is fabulous?

Best Asain Food in Castle Rock with friendly and great service! Will now be my go to place for Asain food in Castle Rock.

Amazing food first of all. This place has never been busy but for a nice quiet dinner date I highly recommend it, just laid back and pleasant staff

Tried for the first last night. Food was good, restaurant was clean however they need to work on customer service. It appears from reading the reviews this had been an issue for a long time at this place. Only 1 server and she was struggling. There appeared to be others in the restaurant that were not doing much, the sushi chief just standing behind the bar, cashier just standing behind the front desk. No team work and lack of appreciation for a paying customer. Lastly, I was surprised to see another customer with their dog, didn't appear to be a service animal sitting at a booth. They were feeding the dog and the dog was wondering around the dining room. I love dogs but there is a time and place and a restaurant it is not.

This place is awful! The food taste old and gross. My friend worked there for about 3 weeks and said they dropped food on the ground, then put it back on the plates and there was a dog in the back kitchen. If I were you I would stay clear of Castle An

Walked in to a place with a nice decor and not very busy for a Friday evening. Wide range of Asian dishes from Korean ownership. It always disappoints me when this doesn't include Korean options and why is this so commonplace? Had some Sashimi which was good, Spring Rolls that were unremarkable, Miso soup which was very good and Pad Thai which was tasty if not entirely authentic. Sapporo and Kirin available. Server was enthusiastic and seemed to enjoy his work. We'll go back. Certainly for a good meal without a wait.

Our family tried Castle An for the first time last night. It was recommended to us by several people recently, even a few from a food forum I am a member of. It was sooo yummy! We ordered Gyoza and Crab Rangoon for apps then Sesame Chicken, Orange Beef and Beef with Broccoli for entrees. All of it was terrific. Even the iced tea was tasty...very light and refreshing. Service was perfectly timed with very friendly staff. I highly recommend. Only 4 stars because it's not THE best Asian food I've ever had however it was delicious and moderately convenient to our home in Castle Rock.

They are awful to their employees. I can not believe the reviews I have been reading from local castle rock residents. They are just young kids! Not ok!!!!

This is an update to a previous review I wrote. Back then this place was three star. It has regressed seriously in the last year. I can no longer recommend this place at all. The service is so sub par that it doesnt even matter what the food tastes like. After numerous delivery orders that were wrong, late, missing items and other issues and after trying over and over to try and rectify with management (apparently the manager is whoever speaks english on any given night, but not really a manager) I have decided to give up on this place for good. I have watched over the years this place decrease in customer service, and it usually starts with the piss poor teenager girl that answers the phone and hosts. What a waste.

I do like the food, however the service and most employees are terrible. First when I was looking for a job I saw a help wanted sign in the window, I went in and asked for an application I was told they were not hiring. Not 1 week later I ordered take out for pick up (because delivery is a terrible horrible experience) and the girl at the hostess stand said it was her first day (maybe it was because I was a dude and not a pretty girl as that's all that seems to work there) any who if it wasn't the only Chinese food place around I would go else where. PLEASE SOMEBODY ELSE OPEN A NEW CHINESE FOOD RESTAURANT if I had the money I would

As the only delivery for chinese food in Castle Pines North... I struggle with my inability to NOT order from them as I love the convenience. However, in the 10 years that I have lived here, I have had more bad experiences than good with this establishment. They are continually excessively late with deliveries (2 hours is ridiculous). They continually "forget" items that you have ordered and paid for. The owner and/or manager (this is an assumption as I really do not know what his role was) is abusive to the staff. Actually humiliated one of the waitresses in front of the entire restaurant to the point she was crying. The food is decent... the customer service IS NOT. I only wish we had another option. My one star rating would be a zero but I do not think that is an option. P.S. Forgot to mention the dog they had running around the restaurant in years past... Really??? Where is the health inspector when you need him.

First of all, food was excellent. But too have a nice a dining experience, a few things need to be changed. 1. Ambience- Lights way too bright in dining room, turn them down and add some music and candles. 2. Service-Only had one server and service was very slow. Hire more servers. 2 simple things would make a huge difference!

The first thing I noticed was the restaurant was totally empty. However, it was very clean and nice inside. I had the Chicken Chow Mein. It tasted identical to the one that is sold in King Soopers (La Choy) So nothing special. I also tried the Sesame Chicken. It was good and the chicken was tender with a nice flavor. The Egg Drop soup was mediocre to good and the Fried Rice was a joke. There was no egg or veggies in it. According to the server they don't put veggies in it and I saw no egg at all. Two things will bring me back here but not as often as I hoped. 1. The sesame chicken was good. 2. I want to try their sweet and sour pork. Mainly because I ordered the crab wontons, which I liked and the sweet and sour sauce served with them had a uniquely good flavor. Most sweet and sour all taste the same. This one didn't. One last comment. They have a Sushi bar but when I was there they posted a big sign at the door that said "NO SUSHI TONIGHT"

We just stopped in to have lunch and stood at the hostess stand for 5 minutes, without any assistance. We rang the bell that was on the desk, called out hello and walked to the middle of the restaurant hoping to get some help. If the owners are wondering why there was no one in there it could be because they walked out after not being served like we did. Very disappointing

We've been here twice now, after moving here from Seattle. Great food, very fresh sushi, nice variety with Thai, Chinese and Japanese. We can always get in and just love it!

I don't review often but this forced my hand.. I used to love this place but the last two experiences have been awful. First, I called for delivery and they wouldn't deliver even though it was well within delivery hours..they said it was slow so they released all their drivers..second, I call for delivery again and now they don't take debit cards..but they take a check..who uses checks nowadays.. seriously..the food shows up and is ok.. other than the fried rice..worst fried rice I have ever had..it looked and tasted like rice soaked in chicken stock..for the price I expect better.. they have been better.. not sure what happed..I used to tell people I knew they had to try it.. now.. I think I have ordered my last Castle An..

I guess I have to laugh. In my previous review I bragged about never having the problem with delivery that many yelpers described. Well.......this place almost slipped to a 2 star last night as they muffed up our order and consequently our dinner. I guess we are not immune to this establishments spotty delivery service. The food was hot fresh and tasty, just they forgot one of our orders and the rice so we had to sit and wait while everything got cold. Staff was friendly about the mix up but it took forever (over an hour) to get things straightened out and no refunds. So my review now comes with the caveat that delivery can be problematic proceed with care.
(3)Amy A.
Our experience with this place is that it has great delivery service and good food, however................going in the restaurant is not a good experience. We just went there for the 2nd or 3rd time the other day to grab some take out, and we were ignored by the teenagers working in the front. They were both answering the phone repeatedly (for delivery orders) but did not bother to say hello, I'll be right with you, or seat the other customers waiting, or request more help from the back. It's a shame because they have a nice little restaurant, and they won't wait on people right in front of them. We finally said something to the girls working and they told us just a minute, and stood there adding up receipts. It was incredulous. We'll just order for delivery from now on.

We stopped in since my boyfriend noticed this restaurant while in the area. I am really disappointed by the experience. The place was pretty empty, and there was a smell of sulfur. I thought it was my nose being oversensitive. I ordered the shrimp tempura dinner and a sushi roll. My boyfriend ordered the garlic beef. The rice in the sushi roll was very gluey, so much so that when paired with the tuna and avocado, each bite had a sticky, mushy texture that made it unpleasant. The tempura dinner came with a salad, miso soup and rice. The miso soup was luke warm, and the salad was a handful of mixed greens topped with crispy wonton strips served with a mouth puckering lemon ginger dressing. Just kind of meh. The main dishes came out and looked good. However the shrimp tempura had no shrimp in it and looked so uniform that I started thinking they were premade. My boyfriend's garlic beef dish had hot meat, but barely cooked and cool vegetables. The overall experience wasnt good. And the sulfur smell got stronger the longer we sat, enough to where my boyfriend realized it may be a gas leak. He put two and two together when he saw the door to the furnace room was propped open. I mentioned the cold vegetables to the server, he didn't seem fazed. It was also really expensive for the quality we got. We're never going back. Wish I read the reviews first.

We have always had good experiences from Castle An. We have only ordered take out, never eaten in the restaurant to judge their service. Food is good and meets our expectations. Parking is rough on the weekends
(3)Jessica F.
We have ordered from Castle An now three times - and this is the last. Unfortunately Castle Pines does not have another Aisan restaurant. All three times our order was wrong and they dd nothing to correct it. This last time we had half of our order delivered - called to lt them know and they said they would come when they could. Never again. Poor service.

When we go and take a table the service and quality of dishes have always been above par and for the price great value. For quality and service at the Bistro I rate it 3.5 stars. However, Delivery is another matter! This rating is for delivery services and related food quality only. Living close to the bistro. and they deliver, we sometimes call in our order for delivery. EVERY time we've had it delivered, tonight no exception, they always seem to forget something. This trend extends beyond Yelp existence. Tonight was no exception. We ordered Apps, Sushi and Kung Pao Chicken ($50+ with tip). While the chicken was nice, hot and flavorful, they forgot the rice. 45 minutes later, I'm still waiting and now the chicken is cold. The apps where luke warm in temp and the Sushi was fishy in both taste and smell. Let's hope we don't get stomach pains soon. The good news is they delivered within 30 minutes of placing the order. Personally, I'd prefer they'd take an extra couple minutes getting the order right before the bag left their door. The bad news is while we can always go to the bistro to eat, experience would indicate this is the only way you should get your food to ensure an enjoyable meal. P.S. It's now past an hour and still no rice! Guess it would have been faster to drive over and get it. Oh well, at least Kung Poa Chicken re-heats well ;-) P.S.S. Well it's 24 hours later and while no stomach pains resulted from last night's sushi ... still no rice delivered ;-) No worries, I boiled my own and Kung Pao Chicken left-overs with MY rice taste just fine. P.S.S.S. If you'd like a great way to make perfect rice EVERY time, here's my 4 step recipe: Ingredients: 2 cups rice (basmati rice is best) 4 cups water 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 cloves garlic 1 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 bay leaf Procedure: 1. Put all the ingredients into a heavy bottomed pot, stir well, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. 2. Reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook over low heat until the rice has absorbed the water, about 15 to 20 minutes. (check and stir with wooden spoon every 5 minutes.) 3. Remove from the heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. 4. Discard the garlic and bay leaf, fluff with a fork, and serve. cluboffive.org/cookbook/…

OK we just can't take it anymore. The food is ok, but they can not get a take out delivery correct. We moved here 4 years ago and ordered delivery - Mongolian Beef not spicy for our young daughter. It showed up spicy so we called to ask them to remedy it - the owner yelled at us because he supposedly made it himself and it was not spicy. It was very spicy. We decided Castle An no more and did not eat there for 3 years. I got desperate one night and ordered take out. Of course the order was incorrect. It has become the running joke with the kids - how will they mess the order up this time. 0 for 4 since going back. Tonight - brown rice instead of white rice and spicy mongolian beef - you think I would learn. Check your orders!! The food is a 3 but they get a 2 - way to go Castle An.

Wow, I was going to contact the owner in regards to our most recent experience, but after reading these reviews, it seems that he won't care anyways! I was having a girls night in, we decided on Chinese. I had ordered food from them in the past. Not too bad, much better than South Garden II in Castle Rock, and I had hoped for better service as well. Not so much. We ordered our food, and were told 45 minutes. After an hour went by, I called. She apologized; said that they were busy, and the food would leave the store in 5 minutes. I am NOT exaggerating, and have my phone logs to prove it... another FORTY-FIVE minutes goes by, and we STILL don't have our food!! As soon as I called, and she answered, the delivery guy came to my door. That poor kid looked like he was gonna start bawling. I told him it was ridiculous, he agreed and said that they were really busy that night. I did end up tipping him, poor thing probably took the brunt of all the angry customers. Not only do I have HUGE issue with how long it took my food to get to me; the simple fact that they have my number and info AT the store, being THAT busy to where it would take almost TWO hours to get my food, and NOBODY called me to apologize, or offer a discount, or tell me it was talking a long time... is unacceptable!!!!! I was a manager of a very successful restaurant for years. The service that we received that night, is NOT okay. The first thing I wouldv'e done is call every customer that was waiting for their food, and apologize. Give out a bowl of egg drop soup for free (what does THAT cost them, in an efforet to save their customers??!) I will never bring my money there again. Take this as a WARNING before you order food there. What a shame. In this economy, that the owner isn't fighting to keep his customers.

My girlfriend called in for a delivery order. Wanted to pay with a credit card. It's 2013 so that should be easy, right? Well, not so fast...my girlfriend was told that "it's too complicated" to use a credit card and that cash and check was all that was taken for delivery. So my girlfriend said cash would be okay. She was given a price of $23 plus $2 for delivery charge for the order. No problem. When it got here, the delivery kid (really nice boy) said $30 and change. He had the receipt and $23 had been written on it then crossed out and $30 put on instead...lol...no joke. The young guy said he had to take the $30 price back and we paid him and tipped him (wasn't his fault). My girlfriend called and asked to speak to the manager and was told that he would call us back when he wasn't so busy. And guess what...right... a phone call never came. We wonder if they're going out of business? (hopefully?)

So tonight we dined in....there were only two other tables occupied when we got there. The waiter didn't really seem to know what he was talking about and he left the table several times to go "check" and see if they had what we asked for. Which was Coors light and Bud light. They were all out of all domestic beers...they are in between two grocery stores and a liquor store. The logical thing would be to go and get a few cases until the shipment comes in. But whatever that wasn't my major concern. The smell when you walk in hits you in the face. Well it did me anyway. It smells like sulfur. The smell in the dining area is light. On the way to the restroom, there is a door that is just before it that has a very STRONG sulfur smell. It was awful. I don't know what it could be. The restrooms weren't very clean either. The food was good but I probably will never dine in again. Oh and we could hear the table that had been sitting there when we got there complain to the waiter that they hadn't gotten their sushi yet. We had already gotten ours. There was only one sushi chef but the other table had been there way before us. Not the best, not the worst but beware of the smell!!!!
(2)Jim W.
This ranks somewhere between "meh" and "OK"... Basically the only local Chinese joint in the 'hood - if you live in Castle Pines, you have to buzz 10 mins down into Castle Rock or up to the Park Meadows area to get a good set of choices. So, it does the trick if you want to stay close by, nothing more. Average and a bit overpriced, but I'm happy they're there, nonetheless. Frankly, the place is NEVER busy with sit-down traffic whenever I've gone, which points to 85-90% of their business being take-out.
(2)Tom D.
Worst sushi I have had to date! I went to this restaurant with my daughter and was seated rather quickly, from there it went straight down hill. The sushi took over an hour, even though we were sitting at the sushi bar. I received 2 pieces of half frozen octupus and when I informed the chef his reply was "yeah, that can happen". It then took another 45 minutes just to get the bill and I had to ask 4 different people before getting it. I have tried this place three times and everytime the the food has been sub par. I will never go back again.
(1)Rob W.
I love this place. Where else can you get awesome sushi and excellent egg drop soup. I highly recommend the nugget roll and the vegas roll. My wife loved the prince roll.
(5)Guy P.
Dine-in is decent. Carryout/delivery is awful. First, the staff here is generally not friendly. The front counter folks who take your order and your money, are OK. It's the owner and his waitstaff that are the issue. They act like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to purchase their food. My experience in terms of their food, when eating there, is pretty good. I also enjoy their sushi. However, their sushi chef is not always there. And, when it comes to carryout or delivery, forget it. We've tried both several times and the orders are NEVER correct. If you carryout, check the order carefully. When we have experienced these issues, they are very reluctant to remedy the situation. This could be a real asset to the CPN community but they simply don't seem to be overly concerned with consistency (except in messing up orders) or customer service. I like to feel appreciated when dining at a restaurant. At Castle An, I never do.
